Cochem, travel and Koblenz
Naturally, there is a castle here, the Reichburg Castle. The tour guide from Belgium was an absolute hoot with her stories and whacky attempts to enunciate her narrative.
The ship left for an afternoon of travel to Koblenz. We arrived at 8:00 so there was not time to wander the city. Rather cold so we just meandered the wharf for a bit.
The travel time on the Rhine is not wasted. Each mile has lots of things to see. Churches, camping grounds, shops, high speed and freight trains, locks, grape vinyards, folks out exercising, wonderfully collored houses and more.
Today for lunch we had the ultimate: Varieties of German sausage, free beer and wine. Yowza!
We are now heading down the Rhine towards Rudesheim (short stop) and then off to Weisbaden to pick up some of the guests who opted for a wine tour. Once we grab them up, off overnight to Aschaffenburg for tomorrow's adventures.
So, today: Ship started in Koblenz, travelled to Braubach, travelled to Rudescheim, travelled to Weisbaden, and finished in Aschaffenburg. There will be no quiz later on.
